- Description
- Annexes RFI and Progran Description / Scope of Work The subject Request for Information (RFI) intends to seek public comments/feedback on the attached DRAFT Program Description/Statement of Work for a possible new activity. This is NOT an invitation for bid, Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Application (RFA) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government to issue any solicitation or ultimately making any awards on the basis of this RFI, or to pay for any information submitted as a result of this request. It should be noted that responding to this RFI will not give any advantage to any organization in any subsequent procurement. USAID will not provide answers to any question(s) submitted in response to this request. This RFI intends to collect details concerning interest, capabilities and market information related to the enclosed documents. The purpose of the Activity: The USAID/Bangladesh FTF Strengthening Agriculture Production and Market Systems (SAPMS) Activity will build on the successes of the current FTF Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA) and Accelerating Agriculture Productivity Improvement (AAPI) activities and ensure the integration of the lessons learned from the previous Poverty Reduction by Increasing the Competitiveness of Enterprise (PRICE) activity and ongoing FTF Agriculture Extension and Agriculture Inputs Projects as well as the Agricultural Value Chain (AVC) activity. SAPMS will be a primary mechanism to support small holder productivity and market systems development under USAID/Bangladesh's FTF strategy, with the objective of improved food security through systemic changes that increase rural incomes and - via increased incomes, including women's income, and incentivized crop diversification - to improved nutrition. The goal of FTF, "to sustainably reduce poverty and hunger" aligns well with Government of Bangladesh's (GOB's) goal "for achieving poverty reduction through accelerated agricultural investment and growth." USAID/Bangladesh's new Strengthening Agriculture Production and Market Systems (SAPMS) activity will foster growth and reduce poverty through improving the competitiveness, inclusiveness, and resilience of rice and other selected crops in the FTF Zone of Influence (ZOI) to the benefit of large numbers of men and women and their families in rural households, farms, and market systems
