Description
The solicitation package will be available for download on or about 7 August 2015. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is issuing a Pre-Solicitation Announcement for replacement of electrical transformers and related equipment at the Jones Bluff Powerhouse located in Selma, AL, and Millers Ferry Powerhouse located in Camden, AL. The NAICS code for this procurement is 335311. The project is scheduled to be solicited on or about August 7, 2015. The estimated cost is $250,000.00 to $400,000.00. Base Work: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment to perform, in strict accordance with the detailed requirements of the specifications and drawings, all of the work necessary to design, to prepare drawings and data, to manufacture, to shop test, to prepare and load for shipment, to deliver f.o.b., and off load four (4) 13.8 kV - 460 V Station Service, Dry Type Transformer as specified. The contractor will install a 100 ohm platinum RTD in each transformer for remote monitoring of the transformer temperature. Delivery of two (2) transformers shall be f.o.b. to Jones Bluff Powerhouse, at 1170 County Road 15, Selma, AL 36703, and delivery of two (2) transformers shall be f.o.b. to Millers Ferry Powerhouse, at 1606 Powerhouse Rd, Camden, AL 36726. Optional Work: The contractor shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment to perform, in strict accordance with the detailed requirements of the specifications and drawings, all the work necessary to disconnect, remove from service, and replace the four (4) existing station service transformers with the supplied transformers. Installation shall include all required connections on the high and low voltage side of the new transformers and shall be in accordance with all applicable state and federal codes and regulations. The contractor will be required to make a site visit to determine proper lead connections. The contractor shall provide any necessary low-voltage copper bus to make the connections to the existing switchgear. This procurement is unrestricted. The solicitation will not be provided in a printed paper format, however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest.
