- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for continued on-site full coverage maintenance for two (2) Heimann, Hi-Scan 6040i and one (1) Heimann, Hi-Scan 100100V x-ray machines in the Durham, NC area. In order to be considered eligible for award, the offeror must be an authorized service provider of x-ray machines manufactured by Smiths Detection, Inc. This procurement is conducted under full and open competition using the procedures at FAR Part 12 ? Acquisition of Commercial Items, in conjunction with FAR Part 13 ? Simplified Acquisition Procedures. A single firm-fixed price award resulting from a written request for quotation (RFQ) will be made, on or before 09/01/2015, to the responsible source whose quote conforms to the solicitation and is most price advantageous to the Government. The duration of the contract period will consist of a base year and four one-year option periods. Refer to the attached documents for more information. Note: The agency is now using the FedConnect web portal. FedConnect provides a new channel of communication with SSA and other federal agencies that is both secure and auditable. It is SSA's intent, by introducing FedConnect, to streamline the process of doing business with SSA's acquisition office, saving both time and administrative effort.
