Description
The USDA National Veterinary Services Laboratory Ames, IA, intends to award procurement of 100 blind avian mycoplasma serology panels to Charles River Laboratories, Inc. The panels must contain antisera produced in specific pathogen free (SPF) chickens to Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) and Mycoplasma synoviae (MS) and negative chicken serum (NCS). The serology panel must include 5 MG, 5 MS and 5 NCS samples at 0.5 ml per vial. The SPF chickens must be free of the following avian diseases: Avian Adenovirus groups I, II (HEV), and III (EDS), Avian Encephalomyelitis virus, Avian Influenza (Type A), Avian Nephritis virus, Avian Paramyxovirus type 2, Avian Reovirus, Avian Rhinotracheitis virus, Avian Rotavirus, Avian Tuberculosis, Chicken Anemia virus, Fowl Pox virus, Hemophilus paragallinarum, Infectious Bronchitis viruses (Arkansas, Connecticut, JMK and Massachusetts), Infectious Bursal Disease virus Type 1 & 2, Infectious Laryngotracheitis virus, Lymphoid Leukosis viruses, Marek's Disease (serotypes 1, 2, 3), Mycoplasma galisepticum, Mycoplasma synoviae, Newcastle Disease, Reticuloendotheliosis virus, Salmonella pullorum-gallinarum, and Salmonella species. This ongoing research using the blind avian mycoplasma serology panels will be conducted in accordance with the procedures accredited by ISO17034 (reference materials). The purchase determination is based on past similar purchases, the requirement to maintain consistency in proficiency tests used and ability to continue use of product approved for use in existing laboratory equipment and testing. Establishing a new source for this product has been unsuccessful due to the proprietary nature of the requirements for the blind avian mycoplasma serology panels. The cost has been determined fair and reasonable based on current technical knowledge of fair market value. The anticipated purchase order value Charles River Laboratories, Inc. is $27,310.00. This is not a request for quotation. However, all interested parties may contact the Contract Specialist listed below. Sources interested in responding to this requirement must be able to provide compelling evidence that they can obtain/provide the testing capabilities and turnaround capability required for this project. Responses must be submitted electronically, via email, to sara.l.matchie@aphis.usda.gov. The deadline for the submittal of responses is 10:00 am CST, August 19, 2015.
