- The Government intends to award a Five-Year, Firm-Fixed Price Contract for this instant acquisition. The RFP and resultant contract will be structured with one basic contract period of 12 months and four annual option periods. The item description and quantities are as follows: NSN : 5945-01-334-8082 Reference Number : 653752-2 Dimensions : 1.9530" LENGTH, 1.9530" WIDTH, 1.3120" HEIGHT, 21oz. Other Dimensions : Cylindrical body Function : Provides firing pulse to release stores from 14 inch rack. Quantities: Basic year: 1 First Article (if required); Basic Qty 300 EA; Options: 4 Out-year Options of 1-85 EA. This is a pre-solicitation notice. The AFLCMC/EBK Contracting Office at Robins AFB, GA has a requirement for the replacement spares consisting of the LAU-12X Solenoid, NSN 5945-01-334-8082, and part number 653752-2. This item is used on the umbilical assembly of the AIM-120 missile launcher. This item is a coil of wire used as an electromagnet that when an electric current is applied, a straight shaft is pulled releasing springs that allow the buffer connector to continue the launch sequence of the AIM-120 missile. The LAU-12X Solenoid is used on LAU-127, -128, -129, and LAU-139 launchers used for F-15's, F-16's and Navy F-18's AIM-120 missile systems. There is a complete Specification Control Drawing for this acquisition. The LAU-12X Solenoid will be manufactured in accordance with the Specification Control Drawing. This requirement will require a First Article. If an offeror intends to waive the First Article requirements, they must meet the following conditions: 1. Offerors currently in production of the same or similar article for an Air Force contract and who have received First Article approval under the existing contract. 2. Provided not more than 36 months have elapsed since completion of the contract. Delivery requirements for the production units will be 120 calendar days after receipt of written award. FAR Part 15 procedures will be utilized. Offerors shall prepare their proposals in accordance with mandatory, explicit, and detailed instructions contained in the RFP. Foreign companies will not be permitted to participate in the competition. It is anticipated that the RFP will be released on or around 26 Aug 2015. The RFP will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities webpage ( http://www.fbo.gov/ ). The technical data required to respond to the RFP may be obtained through a link that will be provided on the RFP posting on Federal Business Opportunities at the time the RFP is posted. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE PROVIDED. The technical data is export controlled; therefore, only businesses that have been certified by the Department of Defense, United States/Canada Joint Certification Office, and have a valid requirement may access the data.
