- **This is a Request for Information (RFI) in accordance with FAR 15.201 (b). THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This is NOT a request for contractual offers. RFIs are used to gather information from industry without any promise of a current or future contract or requirement. Information provided cannot be used to create a binding contract. Respondents to the RFI will not be reimbursed for the information provided to HQ ACC.** General Carlisle, the Commander of Air Combat Command and Brigadier General Taliaferro, the Director of Plans, Programs, and Requirements, will host the ACC Close Air Support (CAS) Innovation Summit on 22-23 September 2015 at Quesada Hall, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. The Summit provides the opportunity for General Carlisle and key Air Force leaders to provide attendees insight into the challenges of providing Close Air Support as well as the ongoing Air Force and DOD research efforts that have the potential to address these challenges. With these insights, General Carlisle hopes participants will search within their organizations for innovative ideas, emerging technologies, and creative approaches to address the challenges. The summit will consist of two half day sessions, 22 September PM Unclassified Session and 23 September AM Classified Session. NOTE: Pre-registration is required at the AFIT site (info below). Final registration for the event will be conducted on 22 September from 0900-1130 at Quesada Hall on Joint Base Langley-Eustis. An overview of the agenda for 22-23 September Summit is included below: DRAFT AGENDA Registration - 22 September (0900-1100) - Quesada Hall Day 1, 22 September (1300-1700) (Unclassified Session) - Overview of CAS, CAS Focus Day and Way Ahead; Stakeholder Perspective Panel; CAS Challenges and Modernization Efforts; and DARPA Persistent Close Air Support Effort 1700-1900 No Host Social at Langley Club ($20 fee for food; pay as you go bar) Day 2, 23 September (0900-1230) - (SECRET Session - security clearance required) - Classified Gaps and overview of planned efforts; SOF CAS Support; and AFRL Research efforts NOTE: Seating will be limited. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to Academic and Research Organizations and companies. The maximum number of attendees per company will be determined by company size. Companies will be able to adjust their specific attendees within the max number allowed up to 1 week prior to the event. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED - Attendance for US citizens only. Attendees must preregister for the Innovation Summit to ensure access to Joint Base Langley-Eustis and conference attendance. There is no registration fee for the summit, however, there is a $20 Fee for those that attend the no-host social which will be collected at registration. Participants must indicate if they plan to attend the no-host social. If you annotate you plan to attend the social and do NOT cancel your reservation at least 7 days prior to the event you will be responsible to cover the $20 charge since we will have to pay the Langley club. Participants must indicate their attendance at either Day 1 Only or Both Days depending on security clearance. For those attending the classified briefings, please have your security manager send a request for your company attendees through JPAS to SMO Code LF1CFS9V6, Event: ACC CAS Innovation Summit, POC: Maj Mike Williams, 225-3663, NLT 15 September. After registering, you will receive an electronic welcome package with information about the event and the local area. Additional details regarding the Summit, including the final agenda and base access process, will be forwarded as they become available. Dress for the event is business casual for civilians or Uniform of the Day (military).
