Description
Attach Revised Statement of Work Revised Statement of Work for VALLON VRM3G Trainer Requirements: Vallon VRM3G Trainer Requirements Statement of Work Background An Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for an Advanced Ordnance Locator (AOL) was conducted at NSWC IHEODTD and the final report was signed on 26 June 2014. In this document, a Vallon VMR2 was cited as being a possible candidate to fulfill EOD requirements. It was the only equipment available that could detect non-metallic objects while still acting as an all metals locator. This dual use capability is due to the fact that it has two separate sensors, a ground penetrating radar (GPR) sensor and an electro-magnetic induction sensor (EMI). The Vallon VMR3G is the latest anomaly detector built that provides both EMI and GPR sensor technology with graphical feed-back to the operator. No other system able to do this. The training requirements discussed in this document are associated with specific VMR3G anomaly detector. Scope Training is critical to the successful operation of this equipment. Instructors need to have extensive practical experience using this type of equipment particularly in battlefield conditions such as those presented in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since the VMR3G is a proprietary piece of equipment, we require vendor/manufacturer specific training tailored to our unexploded ordnance (UXO)/explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) needs. Trainer Requirements • Over 2 years of experience in teaching the VMR3 set of tools • Knowledge of the weaknesses/limitations of the technology. • Ability to teach the theory of active metal detectors and GPR technology • Ability to discuss the sources of noise and interoperability issues Tasks • VMR3G parts and theory of operation • VMR3G assembly and start-up procedures • VMR3G metal detector setup • VMR3G GPR setup • Practical outdoor detection • Training tactics and procedures for the VMR3G • Limitations of equipment • Ability to teach a class size of 8 students • Ability to teach 3 days/@ 8 hours each day • Ability to provide training materials (curricula and props) • Perform practical scenario testing for EOD specific needs • Training must take place at EOD sponsored location (i.e. Blossom Point)
