Description
This project is considered a very small business set-aside. The FAA is seeking experienced firms to Winterize the ATCT Base Building Connector at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Detroit, Michigan. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials and supervision necessary to accomplish the work described in the Scope of Work, the Drawings and the Specifications for this project. The Scope of Work is as follows: General A.Coordinate with the Contracting Officer ™s Representative (COR) and Airport Security (when necessary) in a brief daily (morning) safety meeting. The meeting shall review work to be performed, access for employees and vehicles that goes along with that work, and any related safety issues. B.Coordinate alternate routes for pedestrian traffic through this area with the COR during work hours and after work hours. C.Coordinate all electrical and mechanical shut-downs and start-ups with the COR. All Safety measures included in this bid package shall be adhered to during the course of the work. D.Protect existing wall and floor materials not being removed. Demolition A.Remove existing drywall and fasteners along the outer wall, around windows and doors as indicated on the drawings. Drywall shall be removed to above drop ceilings. B.Demolition shall be done carefully to prevent damage to existing drop ceiling, fire alarms and fire suppression systems, wall switches and electrical outlets. C.Remove existing horizontal grid members carefully to prevent damage to existing concrete block. Construction Mechanical A.Unit Heaters: Install four (4) unit heaters above ceiling space spread out as directed by the COR. Units shall be hanging from the existing metal deck. The power shall be drawn from panel LLA approximately 50 feet away, 208 V, 3 phase. Each unit heater shall be 17,100 BTU/h (5,000 Watts), quiet operation, permanently lubricated and totally enclosed motor. Units shall be UL listed. Elements shall be nickel chromium coated with magnesium oxide. Each unit shall have thermostat with automatic reset limit control mounted on the unit. Suggested unit heater: Modine HER50B3101 or approved equal. B.HVAC DDC Control: Reprogram existing Alerton HVAC control and rebalance the entire system, including base building and ATCT. Provide six hours of hands-on training to facility technicians on the system operation. C.Sensors: Provide four (4) remote sensors to obtain proper system operation. Each sensor will have 25% authority; sensors shall be located in link building area and guard station area as directed by the COR. These sensors shall be tied to existing thermostat. D.Pipe Insulation: Insulate all existing piping above the ceiling with the similar material as existing or material suggested by manufacturer. Architectural E.Furnish and install new steel-stud wall system in accordance with current Building Codes, Local, State and International, as indicated on the drawings. F.Furnish and install new R 15 fiber glass insulation between steel studs on interior wall as shown on drawings. G.Furnish and install new drywall on interior wall (as shown on drawings), replacing drywall around window frames (jambs and headers) and around doors. Install dry wall from floor to above drop ceiling. Match new drywall to existing where wallboard is not removed to install insulation. H.Adjust existing pull boxes, wall switches and electric outlets to match surface of new drywall. I.Extend existing aluminum window sills with aluminum or laminate extensions to match flush with new wall surface. J.Repair drop ceiling and drywall areas removed in order to install new materials. Caulk around doors and windows to provide a finished surfaces. K.Finish and paint drywall to match existing wall colors using low VOC latex paint. L.Repair and/or replace damaged areas including carpeting, wall areas and paint. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. NAICS Code is 236220. The contractor awarded the contract must have active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) before award can be made. Contractors can register at www.sam.gov VERBAL REQUESTS FOR THE SIR WILL NOT BE HONORED. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK WITHIN THE LAST THREE YEARS. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST COMPLETE AND SUBMIT ATTACHED BUSINESS DECLARATION FORM ALONG WITH A LETTER OF INTEREST. General contractors must submit their interest for subject project on letterhead and include the firm's name, address, e-mail, phone number, fax number, and point of contact by no later than August 20, 2015.
