Description
JOFOC This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC) Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM), intends to award a fixed price purchase order to The Binding Site, San Diego, CA to procure reagent kits to be provided in patient care testing. These kits are used for patient care tests for its immunodiagnostic assays. The assays are used to measure FreeLite® chains in diagnosis and monitoring of multiple myeloma and other protocol tests in the clinical center. The Freelite ® Kappa and Freelite® Lambda kits are intended for the quantitation of free kappa and free lambda immunoglobulin light chains in serum. Measurement of free light chains aids in diagnosis and monitoring of multiple myeloma, lymphocytic neoplasms, Walderstrom's macroglobulinemia, AL amyloidosis. The Binding Site is a specialist protein company committed to the development of innovative immunodiagnostic assays, and is the registered trademark holder of the FreeLite® asssays required to the NIH Clinical Center protocols. These reagents are specific to the government held BN II instrument that only uses these reagents and that wouldn't violate the manufactures warranty. Any other reagents would violate NIH protocols and will impact the results of these tests. The Binding Site is the only known distributor/vendor for these reagents and no authority has been issued by The Binding Site to third party distributors to supply these items. QTY 35 LK016.T FREELITE® KAPPA QTY 34 LK018.T FREELITE® LAMBDA The acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of FAR part 6.302-1. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Milton Dartoozos, contract Specialist, Milton.dartoozos@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
