- Stacking Info Layout This is NOT a request for bids, quotes, or proposals. This is a sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information for qualified businesses. Interested parties of any size may submit a response to this notice. Description: The BEP is interested in acquiring an automated palletizing robot to work in conjunction with the existing Currency Overprinting Processing Equipment (COPE) presses located at the Washington DC facility. The system shall be subject to the following design parameters: •Process Description: Currency "bricks" consist of four (4) one-thousand (1,000) note bundle packages shrink-wrapped together. Bricks are discharged at the end of an existing COPE Press. Bricks are discharged at a rate of six (6) bundles/minute approximately every forty (40) minutes. The bricks must be placed in a specific order onto a pallet for transfer to the cash-packaging operation. •System will operate by picking up the product currency brick from the existing discharge end of the COPE Press. Product pickup location is raised 29" from the ground surface. The proposed system shall pick up the currency brick and place it on the pallet. The next brick shall be placed on a second pallet. See ‘stacking.pptx' for information on the stacking sequence. •Brick Weight: 9.5 lbs. •Brick Dimensions: 18" x 6.25" x 2.75" (l x w x h) •Pallet Dimensions: 48" x 36" x 5.5" •Throughput: 6 bricks/minute •The system shall have the capacity to stack two pallets at the same time •The system shall have the capability to perform continuous verification of printed barcode labels on currency "bricks" to ensure correct placement on the pallet and accountability •Machine Equipment Footprint: 71" x 128" x 20' (See ‘layout.pdf' for further details) INTERESTED PARTIES SHALL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IN THEIR RESPONSE: 1.Company name, address, phone number, primary contact(s), e-mail address, ALL applicable NAICS code(s), business size (i.e., small/large), company's socioeconomics (i.e., woman-owned, HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, etc.) and DUNS Number. 2.A detailed capability statement to include: •Equipment functions, specifications, features, warranties, and available options •Rough-Order-Magnitude (ROM) estimate for the cost AND estimated delivery schedule •A high level print presentation either in SolidWorks, Visio or PowerPoint of what the proposed system would look like •Layout configuration 3.Interested parties shall indicate if they are a manufacturer, distributor, or reseller of the equipment. 4.A statement that addresses whether or not the equipment is in compliance with the Buy American Act. Please identify place of manufacture. Responses shall be emailed to gladys.wilks@bep.gov. Telephone responses will NOT be accepted. Responses must be received no later than 11 September 2015, 5:00p.m. (EST). AT THIS TIME NO SOLICITATION EXISTS. (DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF A SOLICITATION). A FUTURE NOTICE MAY BE POSTED IF A SOLICITATION IS RELEASED. The BEP will not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of this notice. Responses to the notice will not be returned. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if one is issued. The Government reserves the right to use any non-proprietary technical information in any resultant solicitation(s). If so, respondents are solely responsible for properly marking and identifying such information within their response.
