Synopsis / Solicitation AG-9104-S-15-0005 No Till Study Plot Drill SF 18 Request For Quote This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The USDA NRCS California Plant Materials Center located in Lockeford California requires a No Till Study Plot Drill. This drill will greatly enhance the capabilities of the Plant Materials Center for cover crop, soil health and biofuel studies. A No Till Study Plot drill operates by cutting through plant residue and dropping the seeds into the furrow. No till plot drills include cone systems for operation with small amount of seed. The information which is collected is used to establish species recommendations for cover crop systems, and valuates new species or varieties which may be of use for cover cropping systems and to address soil health concerns. A No Till Study Plot Drill enhances the ability to collect scientific data to support PMC studies and NRCS recommendations. A no till study plot drill is specialized research equipment. Careful consideration of features is necessary. This is a 100% set aside for small business. The applicable NAICS code is 333111, Farm Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing, which has a size standard of 500 employees. Responses are due on Friday August 28, 2015 no later than 4:00 pm, pacific time.
