This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is: W911QX-15-T-0247 This acquisition is issued as an: Request for Quote (RFQ) / Notice of Intent to Sole Source (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular: 2005-81 (iv) The associated NAICS code is 332994 The small business size standard of employees 1000 (v) The following is a list of contract line item number(s) and items, quantities and units of measure, (including option(s), if applicable): CLIN - 0001 - The Contractor shall rebore nine (9) gun barrels, 12' long: re-bore diameter from 1.042 quote mark to 1.090 quote mark CLIN - 0002 The Contractor shall rebore three (3) gun barrels 10' long: re-bore diameter from 1.042 quote mark to 1.090 quote mark, CLIN - 0003 The Contractor shall rebore two (2) gun barrels 10' long: re-bore diameter from 1.090 quote mark to 1.105 quote mark, CLIN - 0004 The Contractor shall rebore two (2) gun barrels 12' long: re-bore diameter from 1.090 quote mark to 1.105 quote mark, CLIN - 0005 The Contractor shall rebore three (3) gun barrels 15' long: re-bore diameter from 1.496 quote mark to 1.555 quote mark, CLIN - 0006 SHIPPING (vi) Description of requirements: Rebore service of (19)Lab Gun Barrels The Government requires the following: 1. Background: Lab Gun Barrels are used to conduct ballistic experiments at indoor/outdoor experimental facilities within ARL. Due to the erosion of the inner bore of a barrel caused by chamber pressure during firing operations of a weapon system, the barrels are removed from operations until serviced or replaced. A re-bore or machining/milling service of the inner bore diameter creates/restores a uniformed surface of the barrels bore making it able to return to service for ballistic operations with no change to desired effect. 2. Objective: To re-bore out of service lab gun barrels bores to create a new uniformed surface throughout the length of the bore. 3. Requirement: The contractor shall perform a re-bore machining operation to the specifications for each individual lab gun barrel requiring the re-bore service provided by the TPOC as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) no later than one (1) week after contract award. The Contractor shall ensure the re-bore is performed by starting at one end and continuing through the process the whole length of the bore while maintaining its center line. If barrels are determined to have excessive wear at any point along the bore and cannot meet the specified desired re-bore diameter, the Contractor shall notify the TPOC for concurrence of re-boring, identified barrels to the next larger size. The Contractor is responsible for shipping all of the barrels back to the TPOC at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. CLIN - 0001 - The Contractor shall rebore nine (9) gun barrels, 12' long: re-bore diameter from 1.042 quote mark to 1.090 quote mark, CLIN - 0002 The Contractor shall rebore three (3) gun barrels 10' long: re-bore diameter from 1.042 quote mark to 1.090 quote mark, CLIN - 0003 The Contractor shall rebore two (2) gun barrels 10' long: re-bore diameter from 1.090 quote mark to 1.105 quote mark. CLIN - 0004 The Contractor shall rebore two (2) gun barrels 12' long: re-bore diameter from 1.090 quote mark to 1.105 quote mark. CLIN - 0005 The Contractor shall rebore three (3) gun barrels 15' long: re-bore diameter from 1.496 quote mark to 1.555 quote mark. CLIN - 0006 SHIPPING (vii) Delivery is required by: Six (6) weeks after receipt of contract Delivery shall be made to: US Army Research Laboratory, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-5001 Acceptance shall be performed at Destination: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD The FOB point is: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-5001 (viii) The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, applies to this acquisition.
