- The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intends to negotiate on other than full and open competition the purchase for LSR II Special Order Laser Option from BD Biosciences, One Becton Drive, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417 (01) LSR II Special Order Laser Option Item# 340570: (2) ) LSR II Special Order Laser Option Item# 340570: This upgrade, which provides a replacement laser that operates at a much higher power, will increase the sensitivity of the instrument for the detection of low level fluorescent probes. The LSR II laser upgrade is manufactured by BD Biosciences of San Jose, CA. Their engineers are trained to troubleshoot and repair these systems in an expeditious manner. They receive training on modifications and updates to the systems that BD Biosciences manufacturers that no other company’s technicians receive All responsible sources may submit a response that will be considered. The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether this requirement is available for competition.
