Description
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intends to negotiate on other than full and open competition the purchase for Leica HyD detector from Leica Microsystems, 2345 WAUKEGAN ROAD, Bannockburn, IL 60015. (01) Adapter kit for HyD SP for basic module 156 Item#156501493: (02) HyD SP GaAsP detector upgrade Item# 158001493: Leica HyD detectors improve detection efficiency by 50%, rendering even very weak signals visible. Installation of these detectors on the SP5 STED confocal will allow the instrument to be used for many new experiments for which it is currently not applicable. Additionally, the instrument will be able to be used for live cell imaging which requires very low intensity excitation illumination. The microscope system is covered by a service agreement with Leica, and using components other than those bought from Leica will invalidate our agreement. To assure optimal performance and reliability it required a service by specially trained and experienced service engineers. All responsible sources may submit a response that will be considered. The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether this requirement is available for competition. All responses shall be submitted no later than 2:00 PM eastern standard time August 31, 2015 to Lisa Hinton 5601 Fishers Lane, Suite 3A68, Rockville, MD 20852 email, hintonl@mail.nih.gov.
