- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT AND NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Scrireq Scientific, Montreal Quebec, Canada, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for (1 each of the following items): 1) FV-FXCS-FlexiVent Complete System Solution; 2) FV-ANK- Integrated Aerosol Delivery Accessories for the flexiVent FX; 3) FV-FEV1-FPFE/FEV extension for mice; 4) FV-MSC1-Multi-Subject extension; 5) UT-DEK-02-Digital single channel isolated EKG amplifer; 6) CS-ITA On-site installation, training, and expenses Full day.;7) CS-ITA2 On-site installation for additional system/modules, etc., Second day. This system measures forced vital capacity, which is an important measurement of airway function in humans. Additional features include the following: 1)- measure residual volume and total lung capacity, using an oxygen diffusion parameter; 2)- software can eliminate the resistance contributed by the canula itself.; 3)- deliver aerosols.; 4)-Up to four animals can be analyzed simultaneously, resulting in considerable time savings.; 5)- instrument can calculate delivered dose of drug, in addition to the aerosol concentration; 6)-It is portable, and can therefore be moved to other labs and even other buildings if necessary Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contract Specialist at the address stated below. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Scireq Scientific Respiratory Equipment Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500 EMP. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $150,000.
