- Sole Source Justification <OFFADD>USDA, ARS, ERRC, Administrative Office; 600 East Mermaid Lane; Wyndmoor, PA 19038 «SUBJECT>65-FDA-ECID Array Strips <SOLNBR>AG-3JL0-S-15-0008 <RESPDATE>08-31-15 <CONTACT>Point of Contact, Regina Dennis, Contract Specialist, (215)233-6553 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Molecular Characterization of Foodborne Pathogens (MCFP) Research Unit in Wyndmoor, PA, intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Affymetrix, in Santa Clara, CA, on a sole source basis, to furnish and deliver (FOB) Destination FDA-ECID Array Strips to the Eastern Regional Research Center. This will be a firm fixed price contract. Anticipated date of award is September 1, 2015. The DNA array strips will be used to characterize Shiga toxin-producing E. coli strains isolated from swine to determine their disease-causing potential and their serotype. They will also be used in an inter-laboratory study to determine their usefulness for epidemiological studies to track and determine the source of E. coli strains involved in human illness and disease outbreaks. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely at the discretion of the Government in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 (current as of FAC 2005-83B). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS is 325413. The Solicitation number is AG-3JL0-S-15-0008 and is issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ). This is not a request for proposal. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE.
