Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Contracting Office intends to issue an interim sole source award to small business contractor Burbank Dental Laboratory, 2101 Floyd Street, Burbank, CA 91504-3411, who is the current vendor, in order to continue providing patients dental laboratory services for the NorthamptonVA Medical Center. This award will provide the Northampton VAMC an interim contract through 03/31/2016 for use while we are preparing and soliciting a 5 year IDIQ competitive contract which will provide the necessary outside laboratory support to provide uninterrupted patient dental care. The new solicitation for the 5 year competitive IDIQ contract will be issued in the coming weeks. Without the timely issuance of this interim dental laboratory order, we will be unable to meet the dental needs of our veteran patients in a timely manner which will result in cancellation of appointments due to the lack of dental laboratory support. The intent of this procurement is to award an interim contract with the intent of issuing a competitive 5 year IDIQ solicitation in the coming weeks. This purchase will be made under simplified acquisition procedures as authorized by FAR 13-106-1(b). This notice is neither a request for quote nor a solicitation for offers.
