- Hydrostatic Test of Burster Detonantion Vessel, see attachments. Site Visit being held on 9 SEP 2015, must follow instructions attached. Q&A: Questions: Would like to know the diameter of the sphere? Answer: Inner sphere diameter is 47.24 inches. Question: Will the government supply the water for the hydrostatic testing? Answer: Yes Question: Can the testing contractor use 'Process Cooling Water' from within the building? Answer: Not sure what "process cooling water" is but we have water in the building that can be used. Question: Who is responsible for water disposal after the testing is complete? Answer: Government Question: Before the hydro/pressure test would it be possible to evaluate the Vessel in accordance with the Pressure Vessel code (API 510)? Answer: Yes Question: Section 3.0, Requirements Para 3.2 - "Contractor shall provide final written inspection report and certification of the BDV." Q: What is the desired standard or reference that the BDV is to be certified to, at, for, or in accordance with? Answer: The certification is stating the BDV structural integrity meets the hydrostatic testing parameters; however, the final written inspection report shall also state this thereby can delete the certificate. Question: Would the operations manual be available for the Burster Detonation Vessel so we can evaluate what the high pressure fittings are? Answer: Yes, to the awarded contractor.
