- The attachment contains additional information on the project. Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC - Pantex seeks an AE Services provider capable of providing Fire Barrier Evaluations and Inspections of all types of fire rated barriers in existing Pantex facilities. Synopsis: 1. PTXSCOPE 1.1 Background Information The Pantex Plant is located in the Texas Panhandle approximately 17 miles northeast of Amarillo. It is a Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear weapons assembly/disassembly plant managed and operated by the prime contractor Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC. 1.2 General Scope Description Pantex fire protection responsibilities include approximately 450 facilities consisting of Nuclear Weapon Assembly/Disassembly Operations, Nuclear Material Operations and Staging, Explosive Operations and Staging and Balance of Plant Support Operations. All work including engineering analyses, calculations, and field work associated with the Fire Barrier Review and Evaluation including corrective actions shall be conducted in accordance with the requirements in applicable NFPA codes, DOE Order 420.1C Facility and nuclear material facility Fire Barrier evaluations and inspections shall also be in accordance with requirements in ASME NQA-1 2008/2009a Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facilities in addition to the above listed requirements. 1.3 General Project Execution Parameters The overall project execution schedule shall be in accordance with the following major project elements and associated durations: 1St Year Base - Evaluate and Inspect approx. 150-200 facilities Potential 2ND Year Additive Alternate -Evaluate and Inspect approx. 150-200 facilities Potential 3Rd Year Additive Alternate -Evaluate and Inspect approx. 150-200 facilities 1.4 AE Organization Qualifications 1.4.1 Documented experience in the application of DOE O 420.1C, ASME NQA-1, and NFPA Fire Protection Barrier requirements. 1.4.3 Documented experience indicating proficiency in fire protection engineering, safety class systems, and authorization basis requirements within the DOE complex. 1.4.4 Demonstrate an understanding of commercial grade dedication of safety system components as defined by ASME NQA-1. 1.4.4 Personnel that possess a DOE "L" or "Q" clearance The estimated cost range for the base project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
