Description

Project 438-385, Emergency Department Expansion with Relocation of Infusion/Oncology Services, Sioux Falls, South Dakota The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 23, Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System Construction Contracting Product Line Team is soliciting for a construction project for the Sioux Falls VA in South Dakota that shall include, but not be limited to, furnishing all labor, materials, transportation and supervision necessary to complete the project description included here. The Project includes preparing a site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, furnish labor and materials, and providing renovation Emergency Department (ED) Expansion and Relocation of Infusion / Oncology Services. The ED Renovation / Oncology expansion project will provide additional space (in new construction) for Oncology, and expanded-in-place (renovated) space for the Emergency Department at the ground floor of Building 5. The project will provide space for improving system processes, room configuration, privacy, environmental control, and an improved environment of care for patients. The Oncology Addition will involve new construction of approximately 6,250 Building Gross Square Feet (BGSF) at ground floor immediately north of the existing Building 5 Main Entry / Lobby and Imaging Department. In conjunction with this ED renovation, the reception, check-in and patient waiting area associated with the Outpatient Lab (OP) will be renovated / relocated directly to the east of the existing OP Lab. This reconfigured front reception zone will include a check-in desk for volunteers, seating for 15 to 17 patients. The above mentioned changes will be completed as required by the drawings and specifications. The estimated construction cost is between $5M and $10M. Deductive Bid Alternates are included. Solicitation Number VA263-15-B-0854 for this effort will be posted to FedBizOpps (www.fedbizopps.gov) on or about 17 Sep 2015. This solicitation will contain all necessary specifications, drawings and other information necessary to bid this project. An Organized site visit is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, 22 September 2015 (see solicitation available for specific information.) The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond within 10 calendar days of award notification. The Period of Performance is 760 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. THIS SOLICITATION IS SET-ASIDE FOR SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES (SDVOSBs) UNDER PUBLIC LAW 109-461.
