- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the following: 1. Qty 1 - Primary Mirror Ring, consisting of (2) Primary Mirror Ring2, (1) Primary Mirror Ring 3, (4) Primary Mirror Ring connect, (8) Primary Mirror Ring brace 2. Qty 1 - Optic Inner Baffle 3. Qty 4 - Primary Mirror Clamp 4. Qty 8 - Optic Tube Tube 5. Qty 8 - Optic Truss Tube Bracket 6. Qty 9 - Primary Whiffle Flecture, wire EDM slots, Titainium 7. Qty 3 - Whiffle Flexture Bar 8. Qty 2 - Secondary Mirror Ring 9. Qty 4 - Secondary Mirror Ring Connect 10. Qty 1 - Secondary Mirror Case 11. Qty 1 - Secondary Mirror Cap 12. Qty 4 - Secondary Mirror Blade 13. Qty 1 - Honeycomb Backplate The fabricated parts listed above will be assembled into a complete structure to house and support a primary and secondary mirror for the balloon telescope known as the Transiting Exoplanet Explorer Balloon (TEEBall). The majority of the structure will be aluminum (including a honeycombed aluminum backplate) except for the Primary Mirror Flexures which will be fabricated from titanium. The hole positions are designed for assembly without further machining, but tolerances are only tight (0.01 tolerance on hole placement) for the Primary Mirror Flexure. The whole structure (especially the honeycomb backplate and the primary mirror ring) is specifically designed for a balance between weight and structural stability, and part designs cannot be altered The specifications and drawings are linked above or may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.g ov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. ] This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.g ov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than September 11, 2015. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
