Description
This is Request for Information for Market Research purposes. Information provided will be utilized to help the government better understand the marketplace as well as potential solutions for the effort. Any questions should be directed to the contracting point of contact listed below. The draft CDD is estimated to be released with RFP. CCA is analyzing the modification of the threshold system and both the Budget and schedule to meet the provided levels of objective. There will be Four pre-determined levels of objective to be specifically studied in the CCAs. The four levels are. 1-Way LOS System This design maintains the current ALCS system performance level with no additional range or C2 capability. 1-Way Full Range This design maintains the current ALCS C2 capability but increases the range beyond the current capability, increasing E-6B survivability and reducing the transit delay to begin communications with the LFs. LF Status, 1-Way C2, LOS This design maintains the current ALCS C2 and range capability but adds in the ability of ALCS-R operators to have a degree of information about the status of the LF. It is intended that this option involves creating an additional sensor at each LF with a direct connection to the LF ALCS-R radio that detects if the LF has been subjected to attack. This additional information would be used by ALCS operators to increase their flexibility in the flight tracks in having to attempt to execute commands against an LF that has likely been hit and disabled. Missile Status, 1-Way C2, Full Range This design maintains the current ALCS C2 capability but adds in the ability of ALCS-R operators to have a further degree of information, including LF status, or missile status. This is intended to pull missile status information from the Missile Guidance Set (MGS) that would be used by the ALCS operators to increase their flexibility and effectiveness in sending necessary messages to available LFs in order to execute launches. The range would be increased to improve operational responsiveness and survivability. Full Retargeting Capability, Full Range This design will provide the ALCS-R operators the ability to obtain missile status, perform maintenance actions against each missile, and perform adhoc retargeting at a longer range than current capability. This change will likely impact nearly all MMIII C2 subsystems as it injects commands into the LFs which will have downstream impacts to the LCCs. This upgrade is not intended to be carried into the GBSD WSC2 system as it is an incremental upgrade to the MMIII C2 system and it is likely that the GBSD WSC2 will be fundamentally designed differently.
