Description
The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions received before the question deadline from interested vendors. The offer due date of 14 Sep 2015 at 2:00 pm local (Eastern) time is not changed. Responding firms are to please acknowledge this amendment in their submittal email or cover letter with their offer/quote. Questions and answers are as follows: 1. I do not see the SF 1442 with the CLIN line items attached(?) We are not using the SF 1442 for this action to lease the office trailers, and the Bid Schedule with CLINs is within the announcement content after the first paragraph. 2. Does this solicitation contain requirements similar to a current contract? If possible, please provide the contract number. Or is this a new requirement? For our activity this is the first time we have rented office trailers to be the best of the Contracting Officer's knowledge. 3. Will the Government accept used or refurbished units? As a rental we do not require that the trailers would be new. 4. How many single offices does the Government need? The only private office is the supervisor office in the CLIN 0001 requirements, though note also the conference room and break room needs. Contractors are to please submit their layout for the other 29 workstations that may or may not be private offices as per the features of their own offered trailers. 5. How many people will be in open cubicles? Cubicles, private offices, and/or sufficient open office area for workstations are per the contractor's specific offering, except for the noted private supervisor office. It is 29 office personnel with one supervisor for the total of 30 workstations. 6. Does the Government want all this space under one roof or can it be multiple buildings/trailers? We were not expecting one trailer for this many personnel but the contractor is requested to offer as they see fit. One trailer is not prohibited, nor is an approach such as a double-wide configuration. 7. Does the Government want skirting? Yes, as per the first feature listed for CLIN 0001. 8. Fire alarm and sprinkler? Yes, per applicable regulatory and/or industry standards. 9. Is there any other information we can get on the optional furniture? What manufacturing? To better define the standards originally included for the office furniture option, we are requiring that the furniture meet the OSHA guidelines included at https://www.osha.gov/SLTC/etools/computerworkstations/checklist_purchasing_guide.html 10. The furniture section calls for 30 workstations with 60 square feet of space per workstation. It then calls for an office chair and desk for each station. Were you thinking these would be cubicles with built in desks, or how would the workspace be divided? The layout/features are per the contractor's own offerings as long as the required need is met. If it is cubicles with built in desks, given the furniture is an optional requirement the contractor's cubicles would appear to be needed within the option. Open office area sufficient for the workstation space and other requirements is not prohibited, noting also the separate rooms needed for other essentials such as the supervisor office. The furniture is an option because the Government may utilize their own furniture if not rented under this action, and the workstation square footage is expected to allow for the Government furniture if utilized.
