Description
The USDA, ARS, Western Regional Research Center, Albany, California has a requirement for stackable reach-in plant growth chambers; comprised of 4 stacked chambers of 2 units (for a total of 8 units). The lighting system must provide light uniformity across the growth bed of each chamber and potentiometer for dimming at low light levels. The lighting system of each chamber must have a light canopy of 10 Far- Red/White LED bars and 8 Blue/Red LED bars (the programming is done via the controller); the light intensity consists of Blue: 300 micromoles/m2/sec; Red: 200 micromoles/m2/sec; Far-Red: 100 micromoles/m2/sec; White: 300 micromoles/m2/sec. Each chamber controller must have a single control system providing 24-hour chamber monitoring and control of all programmed variables such as temperature and lighting; have a step and ramp mode; offer at least 500 total program steps over 50 total programs and 16 total programmable light/event outputs; deviation alarms and light lifetime alarms; have at least the following 4 program modes - manual, diurnal, program, and non circadian; have at least 3 daytime and 3 nighttime temperature offsets; provide on-board diagnostics, ambient temperature monitoring, and power failure event logging; provide dual experiment protection with primary limit and independent secondary limit; include alarm display/audible buzzer. Each chamber shall have temperature range of 10° - 44°C lights ‘ON' (± 0.5° C) and 2° - 44°C lights ‘OFF' (± 0.5° C). Each chamber shall have temperature safety for experiment protection with adjustable high and low temperature controls, audible alarms and visual indicators where controls automatically shutdown all power to the chamber and activate alarms, and automatically reset when temperature returns to the normal range. The interior units shall have Spectral Aluminum Cladding. The exterior units shall have painted finish with highly reflective, environmentally friendly, high temperature baked white powder coating and ample insulation for maintenance of stated temperature. All seams and joints on the outer and inner shells must be welded and each chamber completely self-contained. Each chamber door maintains a tight seal to the door frame. Each chamber must have one tier per compartment of white epoxy coated steel wire shelving; each shelf approximately 27"D x 28.8"W; shelves rest on clips and are easily adjustable in ½" increments. Chamber interior height from top of shelf to bottom of barrier allows at least 20" for plant growing height. Exterior dimensions of the stacked units should not exceed 33.5"W x 33-5/8"D (door closed) x 97-11/16"H and 65-5/8"D (door opened). Provide cost for installation/commissioning, site orientation/training, user manuals, warranties and shipping/freight fees. This solicitation incorporates the following commercial FAR clauses by reference 52.212-1, 52.212-2, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, and 52.212-5.
