- RFQ WE-133F-15-RQ-4746 The draft ESA-listed Rockfish Recovery Plan will be out for public comment in 2015/16. Research conducted by the University of Washington and NOAA has found that anglers and citizens that understand the life history of rockfish are much more likely to support recovery measures. Education and outreach is identified as a priority in the draft rockfish recovery plan but, there are virtually no organizations conducting education and outreach related to rockfish recovery in the Puget Sound. We have been reaching out to potential educational partners (including the Seattle and Tacoma aquariums, the whale museum, Whidbey Island Eco Net, WSU Beach watchers, and others) to incorporate rockfish components to their education and outreach. The objectives of this work is to: 1) develop a life history poster, and 2) a rockfish book that details life history (and associated images for future signage and outreach materials). The contractor will develop each product in accordance with STEM requirements for Washington State.
