- Pre-Solicitation Synopsis : This is a PRE-SOLICITATION SYNOPSIS; it is not a solicitation announcement; thus, this synopsis neither solicits for proposals nor bids and no contract will be awarded based on this synopsis. The purpose of this synopsis is to alert the public (especially Small Businesses) that the Maritime Administration (MARAD), which is an operating administration of the United States Department of Transportation (DOT), intends to procure a contractor who is familiar with Federal curatorial standards, practices and maritime history to create uniform window-blocking panels. The services will take place at the American Merchant Marine Museum (AMMM) at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, New York. Anticipated Scope of Work : Measure, plan, design, and install uniform made window-blocking panels for several of the Academy's buildings. The panels are needed to aide in ultraviolent (UV) light control and Heritage Asset collection presentation/preservation Release Date of the Solicitation : A Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued on or around September 11, 2015. Period of Performance : The duration of the project is anticipated to be completed within 270 days after the contract award date Contract Type : Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract Set-Aside/Size Standard : The procurement will be a total small business set-aside under NAICS Code 321911 (Wood Window and Door Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 500 Employees. Other Information : Please be advised interested offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) in order to be eligible to receive an award from any Government solicitation. Also, offerors must ensure annual Representations and Certifications are current or complete them on the SAM website. It is the prospective Bidder's responsibility to check www.fbo.gov as often as necessary for any posted changes to this pre-solicitation synopsis.
