Description
1. Introduction/Statement of Intent The FAA intends to award a single source contract ceiling increase to Tektronix, Inc., 14150 SW Karl Braun Dr., Beaverton, Or, 97077-0001. 2. Description of Supplies/Services The Test Equipment Calibration Services contract provides all services, personnel, material, supplies, supervision, labor, and equipment, except that specified as Government furnished, required to inspect, calibrate, and test FAA-owned test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) in support of the National Airspace System (NAS). 3. Total Estimated Value and Period of Performance The total estimated value of the planned single source contract ceiling increase is $500,000.00. The new contract ceiling will be $12,355,146.40 4. Authority The FAA ™s authority for entering into this contract ceiling increase on a single-source basis is the FAA ™s AMS Policy 3.2.2.4 Single-Source Selection (January 2015). 5. Reasons for Single Source The rationale for the single source consists of the following: It is in the best interests of the FAA to issue a single source contract ceiling increase to Tektronix, Inc. because it is the only firm that can reasonably provide support to meet the FAA ™s requirements within the timeframe identified ”i.e. for approximately ten days. This action is necessary to mitigate the risk to the FAA and prevent a lapse in calibration services from the end of the current Tektronix, Inc. contract to the new vendor ™s fully operational mode. Tektronix, Inc. is the only source that has the capability, detailed understanding of the FAA ™s calibration service requirements, and breadth of experience to provide the services necessary to meet the FAA ™s requirements and ensure continuity of service on such short notice. 6.
