Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement for an laser ablation electrospray ionization (LAESI) source for mass spectrometry (MS); provides an ambient ionization method for MS that combines laser ablation with electrospray ionization. System must include an infrared laser and associated electronics for laser ablation of biomolecules in tissues or living cells for spatial distribution profiling by mass spectrometry. Ionization system shall include electronics and software to superimpose the results from the MS on an image of the sample to produce an exact profile of where the molecules of interest reside in the sample; ionization occurs by electrospray prior to delivery of the molecules to the mass spectrometer. System must also include germicidal lamps and additional electronics to eliminate potential aerosol contamination of the inside of the device and the immediate vicinity. The LAESI system must integrate with an existing Thermo Electron Hybrid Mass Spectrometer LTQ Orbitrap ELITE (#OTELITE-10000) system with ETD for LTQ Orbitrap Velos (#1257330), and conform to existing research protocols for laser ablation of live pathogens; must include heater tube assembly, heater control cord, control box and power cord for Thermo Velos Pro Orbitrap ELITE MS system. This solicitation incorporates the following commercial FAR clauses by reference 52.212-1, 52.212-2, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, and 52.212-5.
