Description
Sole Source Justification -- Simplified (Under SAT) Statement of Work This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. All responses may be used for market analysis in determining the availability of potential qualified businesses for the purposes of determining an appropriate acquisition strategy. The Indian Health Service (IHS) intends to award a non-competitive contract to Dr. Anne Merewood (DUNS: 078618335) for the Indian Health Service Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) support services. This sole source contract is for support services related to the coordination of the BFHI, including provision of direction, coordination, and promotion in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating IHS hospitals' maintenance of BFHI designation. All IHS hospitals that provide obstetric services are now designated as Baby-Friendly and offer new mothers the information, confidence and skills they need to initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies. Dr. Merewood will serve as a subject matter expert to assist the goal of the agency's BFHI sustainment. This contract action is for services that the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority under the authority of 41 United States Code (U.S.C.) 253(c)(1) as set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1.
