Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office located in West Haven, Connecticut intends to issue a sole source firm fixed priced contract to HOLOGIC LIMITED PARTNERSHIP. HOLOGIC LIMITED PARTNERSHIP will provide to the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) Laboratories, as they require these essential products for sample collection, storage and testing for GYN and non-GYN specimens in the CYTO/HISTO Section of the Anatomic Pathology Departments located at the Connecticut Healthcare System, 950 Campbell Ave, West Haven, CT 06516-2770. The requirement will be sole sourced to HOLOGIC LIMITED PARTNERSHIP. The equipment and ancillary supplies are required for the CYTO/HISTO Section of the Anatomic Pathology Departments.at the West Haven VA Lab. Hologic products for sample collection, storage and testing for GYN and non-GYN specimens are only available from the manufacturer Hologic LP. These products are open market and sole source for use on the Thin Prep Imaging System by Hologic. The Thin Prep Imaging System utilizes computer technology by automatically scanning every cell and cell cluster to highlight areas of interest for human analysis. This process improves screening efficiency while concentrating human interpretative skill on those cells of greatest interest. This equipment is already in place and use in Labs within VISN 1. The current long term agreement (contract# VA241-13-D-0157) for these items expires 9/30/2015. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b) (2), "soliciting from a single source." The NAICS code is 339112 and has a size standard of 500 employees for this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 12:00p.m. EST, September 26, 2015 to: Craig.Harris@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
