Description
Amendment 0001 - Questions & Answers AMENDMENT 0001 HAS BEEN ISSUED AGAINST THIS SOLICITATION. PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED ADMENDMENT 0001 DOCUMENT FOR COMPLETE DETAILS. Overview The Cybersecurity division of Headquarters Marine Corps C4 (HQMC C4/CY) had previously manually performed General Officer (GO) Social Networking Site (SNS) crawling, discovery, and harvesting activities to protect the reputation/privacy of our USMC GO community, and to reduce malicious attempts to penetrate Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN) boundaries. The purpose of the activity is to identify fictitious and imposter accounts (a.k.a. "evil twins") which are masquerading as USMC GOs. These "evil twins" create malicious links for unsuspecting service members to access, and are fraudulently extorting information and money on behalf of the USMC Key personnel and GO's. The Government seeks a Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) automated social networking capability to provide significant improvement in the ability to conduct effective and efficient discovery, removal and reporting of Imposter social media accounts. The COTS capability will continue to protect the best interests of the USMC and its Key Personnel. Automating has significantly reduced resource expenditure, time and work factor efforts allowing for a more comprehensive social media review. Additionally, integrating the discovery of malware and trends with hashtags within the automated system is an additional aspect of discovery and will identify trending topics in the USMC to quickly determine threat agents as an entry point for malware and impersonators trying to gain followership through discussion topics. See attached Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the entire solicitation.
