Description

Currently contract FA4814-11-P-0004, with the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) will expire on 30 September 2015. This past June a site visit was conducted by ACCET and JS granted five more years of accreditation. A sustaining fee of $3,700.00 each year must be paid for the next five years in order for JSOU to maintain accreditation by ACCET. JSOU is also including a site visit during the fourth option year which is required so ACCET can review the program and renew JSOU's accreditation. Without attaining accreditation, JSOU will be unable to sustain accreditation for any courses that are taught at the lower level division for Special Operations Forces. The Joint Special Operations University is currently an accredited education and training institution through Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) which is only able to grant accreditation at the lower division undergraduate level. ACCET is the officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Failure to keep this accreditation would eliminate the five plus years JSOU has in good standing as an accredited organization.
