- Sources Sought PR: FD2060-16-00075 (Intent to Purchase on Sole-Source Basis) LOCATION: Robins AFB, GA 31098-1813 FBO Post Title: Intent to sole-source purchase of NSN 1680-01-263-1553, Jackscrew; NSN 1680-01-263-1558, Jackscrew; NSN 1680-01-263-1549, Jackscrew SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Slat Jackscrew Assemblies: NSN 1680-01-263-1553 PNs: 894210-04, CA95279-001 NSN 1680-01-263-1558 PNs: 894204-04, CA95269-001 NSN 1680-01-263-1549 PNs: 894211-04, CA95281-001 ITEM DESCRIPTION The Slat Jackscrew Assembly is part of the Slat Actuators used on the Air Force C-5 Galaxy heavy lift transport aircraft. This item extends and retracts the leading edge slats when selected by the pilots, increasing and decreasing the wing lift coefficient. The Jackscrew Assembly is telescoping, mechanically actuated by torque tubes in unison with each of the other slat actuator positions. Impediment to Competition: The original equipment manufacturer for PN 894210-04, 894204-04, and 894211-04 is Linear Motion (CAGE 0A335); and PN CA95279-001, CA95269-001, and CA95281-001 is Moog (CAGE 0ZWK8). Each of these companies maintains their configuration by part number. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, these companies are the only known sources with adequate knowledge of the Slat Jackscrew Assembly requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to either Linear Motion or Moog for the manufacture of the Slat Jackscrew Assembly in support of the C-5 program. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 23 September 2015 by emailing Lori Oppegard at Lori.Oppegard@us.af.mil or dla.dlr.proc@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source (or a limited number of responsible sources) and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
