- AMENDMENT 3 The purpose of this amendment is to respond to questions from industry. Questions 1-4 were answered via Amendments 1 and 2. Question 5: What is the required clock speed "Ghz" and Core count for the system processors? Answer 5: Minimum 2.1 Ghz, 6 core Question 6: Will the navy accept new versions of intel E5-2600 family - EG; v2 or v3 processors? Answer 6: Yes Question 7: What is the required bandwidth speed for system memory? Answer 7: 1.6 Ghz DDR 3 minimum speed Question 8: Does the navy require interleaving memory? Answer 8: This is not a requirement. Question 9: Does the Navy wish to upgrade the memory capacity in the future? Answer 9: This is not a requirement. Question 10: Does the Navy require each channel per CPU to be populated? If yes, will the Navy discard the initial system memory module capacities if the future memory upgrade consist of having more than 64GB memory total capacity? Answer 10: It is acceptable to require the Navy to procure replacement memory in the event memory upgrades go beyond 64 GB. Question 11: RAID controller requirement. With the requirement listed at 3x PCIe 2.0 SAS 6G and 3x BBU's, is this configuration using 3x RAID controllers a hard requirement? Answer 11: The number of controllers is not a hard requirement, but the number of external SAS ports is. Question 12: With the total storage dimensions being no more than 8U, is this for both 2x storage servers? or 8U per each storage server? Answer 12: 8U per storage server Question 13: What is the required power supply specification? Total capacity in Watts, Redundant or single, and is 80+ gold/ or platinum a requirement? Answer 13: There is no hard requirement. However, supply should be sufficient to drive a fully loaded chassis (64 drives + OS drives), along with the maximum memory complement. Question 14: With regards to the stated specification of "Vertical" 3.5" x 1" drive bays, and the 5.25" bay. Is the requirement for vertical vs horizontal a hard and fast requirement? May these bays, especially the 5.25" have a horizontal format? Answer 14: The Government is willing to accept horizontal units. The closing date and time is being extended to 2:00PM EST on Friday, September 18. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
