Description
STATEMENT OF WORK This project requires two tasks. Task one: The Contractor shall provide all demolition, and new construction required to remove 2 existing sets of non-compliant single swing frames and doors and replace them with a 2 new set of double egress frames, doors and all hardware required to comply with all conditions of NFPA 101 sections 7.2.1.4.2 and NFPA 101 section 7.2.1.6.1 for electronic controls and fire systems coordination. All adjacent walls floors and existing finishes shall be restored to its original condition upon completion of all work. Damages resulting from demolition and or installation will be the sole responsibility of the Contractor. Additional work will be required to install electronic door controls requiring card reader access from Lobby side and push button egress from restricted access side. All controls shall be programmed in tandem with the fire control systems and comply with applicable laws and regulations. All connections to facility Security and Fire Alarm systems shall be completed by a company licensed and approved by the product manufacturers. Task two: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, licensed fire protection engineer, and supervision to review the fire sprinkler layout of the atrium area and make necessary changes to the fire sprinkler layout to ensure VA and fire code compliance. The general contract will be required to hire a licensed fire protection engineer/engineer of record to develop the new fire sprinkler layout in the atrium of the Lee County Clinic. The scope of work shall include an initial site visit to investigate existing conditions, preparation of new code compliant fire sprinkler design, and execution of the construction needed for the developed fire sprinkler design. The VA will review the prepared final fire sprinkler design for approval prior to execution of the construction. The specific noted deficiency is "incomplete glass wall sprinkler protection on the second floor." The period of performance is 100 Days.
