This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. Proposals are being requested for Request for Quote (RFQ), VA528-15-Q-0413 for the following: The purchase and installation of a new High Compaction Rear Loading Refuse Collection Truck Body mounted on existing Autocar chassis, that meet the below physical, functional, and/or performance characteristic specifications that will fit our requirement(s). We ask for New High Compaction Rear Loading Refuse Collection Truck Body Mounted on Existing Autocar Chassis only, no remanufactured or "gray market" items. All items must be covered by manufacturer's warranty. Includes removal of existing body on chassis and installation of new body. Details contained in attached Statement of Work (SOW). Solicitation VA528-15-Q-0413 is issued by VA Medical Center, 76 Veterans Avenue, Bath, NY 14810, who anticipates not conducting discussions with offerors submitting quotations under the subject solicitation and reserves the right to make contract award based on the initial offer submitted. Requirements may be added by future amendments to this solicitation. The Government contemplates award of a Firm Fixed Price contract resulting from this solicitation. This is an unrestricted, open market solicitation. Proposals must be received no later than 3:00 pm, EST on Thursday, September 24, 2015. The New High Compaction Rear Loading Refuse Collection Truck Body Mounted on Existing Autocar Chassis will replace the current damaged/outdated trash packer. 4. Scope. The Purchase of a new High Compaction Rear Loading Refuse Collection Truck Body Mounted on Existing Autocar Chassis, that meet the below physical, functional, and/or performance characteristic specifications that will fit our requirement(s). We ask for New High Compaction Rear Loading Refuse Collection Truck Body Mounted on Existing Autocar Chassis only, no remanufactured or "gray market" items. All items must be covered by manufacturer's warranty. The awarded vendor is responsible for picking up vehicle at the VA Medical Center in Bath, NY and returning it when work is completed. Additionally, Bath VAMC mechanic will travel to worksite to inspect after the existing body is removed and chassis preparation work is completed - this will be accomplished prior to installation of the new truck body. 5. Specific Tasks : One (1) New 20 Cubic Yard Rear Load Refuse Packer Mounted on the Bath VA's existing Autocar chassis. Pricing includes removal of existing body on chassis and installation of new body. 1- Body "The capacity of the body, excluding hopper area is: 20 cu.yd "The body is rounded and smooth to permit a maximum capacity. "The inside body width is: 90 in "The outside body width is: 96 in "Body incorporates a longitudinal center floor-trough running the entire body length "The floor sheets thickness is: 1/4 in "The floor sheets yield strength is: 50 000 psi "The floor support braces run from the center floor trough outward "Floor support braces dimensions are: 10 Gauge X 8 Inches Wide "The body walls are rounded and smooth, improving resistance and featuring lightness. "An access door is installed at front left corner to permit access to the body "The body access door dimensions: 28X 23 1/2 in "Body roof is rounded and made of high yield steel to ensure strength when material is packing against it. "Roof and sides are joined together by a one-piece formed corner 2- Hopper "Hopper capacity is: 3.0 cu.yd "Hopper opening width is: 74 in "The hopper sides thickness is: 10 Gauge "The hopper floor thickness is: 1/4 inch 3- Rear tailgate "The tailgate is operated by 2 single acting cylinders.
