Description

The Cincinnati Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Alpha Imaging LLC. This proposed contract action is for the services of the Selenia Mammography System which utilizes proprietary software from Alpha Imaging, for which the Government intends to accomplish using commercial item procedures in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12 and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, of other than full and open competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. The VA believes that Alpha Imaging is the only company that can provide this equipment. The VA believes the unique characteristics of this equipment and software, Alpha Imaging is the only U.S. distributor for the Selenia Mammography System. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by September 22, 2015 from the date of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information may be sent to the Contract Specialist by emailing katie.paben@va.gov on or before the date indicated herein. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Alpha Imaging for said equipment and software updates. All responses must be received with this solicitation number in the subject line.
