- Description
- The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command - Rock Island, on behalf of the Product Manager Demilitarization (PdM Demil) and the U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command (JMC), is conducting market research to identify potential sources that are capable of providing demilitarization and Disposal within the Pacific Theatre area. The U.S. Government has up to a quantity of 1.1 million M449 / M449A1 (D561 / D562) Improved Conventional Munitions (ICMs) anti-personnel artillery located in Korea. This quantity of munitions totals more than 51,000 tons. Interested sources should describe their experience with handling and demilitarization of artillery projectiles containing sub-munitions, experience in insuring the safety of ammunition workers and handlers, insuring the physical security of ammunition, and in identifying and meeting applicable safety, security, and environmental statutes and regulations. Interested sources should provide responses that contain the following information: a. Name of company and CAGE code; b. Point of Contacts name, telephone number and E-mail address: c. Company address d. Business size information; e. Identification of whether you are interested in this opportunity as a prime or a subcontractor; f. Please include any assumptions made or any additional information you feel might be useful to the Government technical team g. Location of the facility or proposed facility h. Description of the plans and schedule to build a facility in the Pacific Theatre area, including magazines to store the artillery projectiles, that can safely destroy the stated quantity of artillery projectiles and contained sub-munitions, j. Schedule and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost for the identified effort to include demilitarization and disposal cost and the cost of creating an operating facility k.
