Description
THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR PRESOLICITATION SYNOPSIS BUT RATHER IS A RFI PERTAINING TO C-5 AUTOPILOT SERVO MOTOR ( NSN: 6110-01-492-5228UC) AND THE C-5 AUTOTHROTTLE SERVO MOTOR ( NSN: 6615-01-493-4075UC ). The Government is conducting market research via this RFI to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to support Air Force requirements for repair of the C-5 Autopilot Servo Motor and the C-5 Autothrottle Servo Motor. At this time the only known qualified source for repair or manufacture of these parts is MPC Products Corporation. Both parts are peculiar to and will be used on the C-5 aircraft only. The Motor-transmission (ATS), NSN: 6110-01-492-5228UC is repair method coded (RMC/RMSC): R4/B, and the Servomotor-automatic (APS), NSN: 6615-01-493-4075UC is repair method coded RMC/RMSC: R3/B. Government data rights, or manufacturing knowledge are not available to permit repair by any other source other than the source specified on a source control drawing in accordance with DoD-STD-100. There is currently NO Government funding available for reverse engineering to qualify a new repair source and there are No serviceable assets available for loan/lease or borrow. Contractor shall furnish all material, support equipment, tools, test equipment, and services. The contractor is responsible for providing, maintaining, and calibrating all support equipment required at their facility or a subcontractor's facility. Contractor furnished material or parts used for replacement shall equal or exceed the quality of the original material or parts. Contractors/Institutions responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey. INTERESTED CONTRACTORS SHOULD REVIEW THE ATTACHED DRAWING(S) AND SUBMIT THE CONTRACTOR CAPABILITY SURVEY TO THE POINT OF CONTACT LISTED HEREON BY 4:00 PM EST 6 OCTOBER 2015.
