Description
Amendment 0001 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe district is soliciting interest for a firm fixed price (FFP) contract for the Design-Bid Build Project for the of the Shape International School, Mons, Belgium. The new Shape International Schools (SIS) facility will be composed of three (3) academic classroom buildings with a total gross enclosed area of approximately 9,500 square meters. The design is compatible with the architecture of the existing buildings and uses the same design vocabulary; vertically modulated brick piers and green roofs for the academic portion and a brick base, corrugated metal panel walls and standing seam metal roofs for the special use spaces. The academic buildings are comprised of three (3) - two (2) story sections organized on the east and west sides of the campus commons and a large outdoor gathering space that serves as a recreation court. The cast-in-place concrete structure includes exterior concrete walls as backup for brick wall systems. Interior walls are plaster finished concrete block. Roofs are both flat and pitched with a green roof system. All of the buildings will meet or exceed all relevant Belgian codes. The UK/Canada School will meet UK fire regulations in addition to the Belgian regulations. The projected NTP will be issued in November 2015 with a period of performance of 26-months and construction schedule must be integrated with the academic calendar of the SIS. The Government intends to evaluate and select, for contract award, one (1) qualified Offeror, whose proposal is determined to be the best value to the Government, with consideration given to both the technical evaluation factors and price. The estimated magnitude of this contract action is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000.
