- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for Vacuum Chamber. This project is to provide a cryo-cooled vacuum chamber to enable cold testing of detectors sensitive to electromagnetic interference. We are preparing an experimental test facility for single photon detectors (SPD) for evaluation as detectors for future NASA planet characterization missions including the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST) and Large UV-Optical-IR Surveyor (LUVOIR).The current measurement setup for CCD and Electron Multiplying CCD (EMCCD) detectors lacks a dedicated cryo-cooled vacuum chamber. The purpose of this procurement is to provide a dedicated cryo-cooled vacuum chamber that can reduce the number of thermal cycles required for sensitive detectors and provide shielding from electromagnetic interference. The requirement is as follows: (One) Janis model CCS-200/CH-110 system /Sumitomo model HC-8E4 water-cooled compressor Vacuum chamber with cold working space 12 diameter by 16 tall Cooling power of > 75W at 77 K Electrical isolation between the cryocooler cold head and the cold plate including the use of a sapphire disc Port for 3 diameter window on the top cover and inner shroud 6 x 2 diameter o-ring feedthrough ports with blank covers 19 pin electrical feedthrough Safety pressure burst valve Selection and award will be made to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quoter. Technical acceptability will be determined from information submitted by the quoter which must provide sufficient details to show that the product quoted meets the Government's requirements. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.g ov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing Odessia.H.Becks@nasa.gov no later than 09/25/2015. It is the quoters responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/p ub_library/Omb.html.
