- Description
- NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) plans to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for a construction projected titled NASA Langley Research Center Building 1230 East Wing Renovation. The required work will be performed on NASA LaRC in Hampton, VA.The content of the work includes, but is not limited to, demolition of walls, piping and insulation, earth work, foundation repair, steel erection, rollup doors, site work, wall and ceiling replacement, painting, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire detection and prevention, and other work as indicated in the contract specification documents. This acquisition is total set aside exclusively for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns and award is restricted to SDVOSB concerns.The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a small business size standard of $36.5 million. The anticipated contract type is firm fixed price. The Order of Magnitude for this procurement is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The tentative date for issuing the IFB is on or about October 13, 2015 with a tentative date set for submission of and opening bids (bid due date) of on or about November 13, 2015. Completion of contract performance is anticipated to be 420 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) with no option periods. Specifications and Drawings will be also be posted with the IFB. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/p ub_library/Omb.html. The IFB and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet on the Federal Business Opportunities and NASA Acquisition Internet Service websites at the following addresses: https://www.fbo.gov/ and https://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi bin/nais/link_syp.cgi. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). FAR 52.236-27 Site Visit (Construction) (Feb 1995) Alternate I (Feb 1995) (a) The clauses at 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions, and 52.236-3, Site Investigations and Conditions Affecting the Work, will be included in any contract awarded as a result of the solicitation. Accordingly, offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. A site visit will be scheduled on or about October 22, 2015, further instructions will be provided in the IFB.
