- Synopsis for solicitation number N00189-15-T-0592 (Linear Motor Stage Components) The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, Contracting Department, Norfolk, VA intends to award a sole source contract to Newport Corporation to provide electronic components in support of the United State Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, Maryland. The requirement is a purchase request to replace degraded electronic components, which will be utilized in the USNA ™s 2-axis positioning system that will be installed above the Eiffel wind tunnel in the fluids lab. This item will be used to attach items such as pitot tubes, wake rakes and other measuring devices that can then be systematically positioned and moved at precise increments back and forth, and up and down in the test section of the wind tunnel. The supplies will be acquired in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR Part 12 “ Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13 “ Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334519 Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing, the Size Standard is 500 employees. A request for quote will be available for download on or about 22 September 2015 at the following website: https://www.neco.navy.mil. By submitting a quote, the vendor will be self-certifying that neither the requestor nor the principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to do so may represent grounds for refusing to accept the quote. Through its submission, the vendor acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award, during performance and through final payment of any contract resulting from this solicitation, except for award to foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States. Lack of registration in the SAM database will make a vendor ineligible for award.
