Description
Attachment 1 This announcement constitutes an official Request for Information (RFI) as defined in FAR 15.201(e). This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the government. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Disclaimer: This Market Research and RFI is for planning only, and shall not be considered a RFP or IFB, an obligation from the U.S. Government (USG) to acquire any products or services, or authorization to incur any cost in anticipation of such authorization. The USG does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or reimburse respondents for information solicited. The components required for forthcoming solicitation, as outlined in Attachment 1, will allow the GEX Development and Test environments to mimic the production environment at DLA Transaction Services. There are currently inconsistencies between the development, test, and production environments which are adding significant risk to the GEX program. These inconsistencies must be eliminated to reduce the impact to the program. The components being requested for the development and test environments will eliminate the inconsistencies, provided that the equipment procured is the same brand and models that are being utilized in the production environment. This will allow for a uniform environment in which the software development lifecycle for GEX can be followed without the burden of dealing with dissimilar equipment and allows the program to operate with lower cost due to the utilization of like hardware and software configurations. The GEX program at DLA Transaction Services is a Mission Assurance Category (MAC) I system which means it is Mission Critical. Any risk to the program would have significant negative impact to the Warfighter and the Department's global mission. The Dell and HP hardware being requested would significantly reduce the risk to the Department. The Government is seeking potential sources of supply for the listed items. The Government is also seeking additional information which may add to the Government's understanding of these items. Responses to this RFI can be submitted to Thomas E. Rosenthal at thomas.rosenthal@dla.mil. If you have trouble opening the attachment, please contact the listed POC and a copy will be provided to you via an alternative medium (either fax, email, or hard copy). Thank you in advance for your assistance.
