- NOTICE OF CONTRACT ACTION - This notice is provided by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Armament Directorate, Direct Attack Division, Fuze Branch (AFLCMC/EBDZ), Eglin AFB, FL, to announce its intent to solicit and award a contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Kaman Precision Products, Inc (KPPI), 6655 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32807 for the production of the Joint Programmable Fuze (JPF) System (FMU-152A/B, FZU-63 Initiator, Power Cable, Fuze Retaining Ring and Lanyard). The Government projects the contract will be a basic with 1 option year. Specific contract requirements include, but are not limited to JPF system, technical support, Government furnished equipment repair, spares and trainers. The Government anticipates procuring a total of approximately 50,000 fuze systems. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Any submission will need to demonstrate how the source can provide qualified capabilities without incurring substantial duplication of costs or unacceptable delays to the JPF program activities. Responses must be received within 15 calendar days after the posted date of this synopsis. Anticipated contract award date is August 2016. An Ombudsman has been appointed in accordance with AFFARS 5352.201-9101. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the Program Director or Contracting Officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Matters of a routine or administrative nature concerning this acquisition should not be addressed to the Ombudsman but rather the Contracting Officer.
