Description

Excavator Solicitation The US Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, intends to acquire one new standard commercial configuration steel tracked Heavy-Duty Hydraulic Excavator to support the dredging mission of the Corps of Engineers Dredge, William L. Goetz. This Excavator will be regularly transported by a barge in conjunction with the Dredge Goetz fleet. Due to the rated deck load capacity of the transport barge, the maximum weight of the excavator (fully loaded (sans operator) and fueled) must be no more than 70,000 lbs. The principal purposes of the excavator include placing and installing drop structures, constructing earthen containment berms, and undertaking mechanical dredging of the Mississippi River and its tributaries from the deck of the transport barge. That work will entail the excavation, lifting, and placement of wet sand at full arm/boom extension. The Government intends to issue a purchase order to the quoter providing the lowest-priced product that meets ALL of the following salient characteristics. Compliance with the salient characteristics of the solicitation will be determined by evaluating the standard commercial configuration product quoted against the requirements of the solicitation using product brochures, catalogs and other publicly available information. Quotations offering nonstandard products or nonstandard product configurations will not be considered. Multiple quotations from the same vendor will not be considered.
