- THIS IS A SUBCONTRACT OPPORTUNITY WITH EDUCATION MANAGEMENT CORPORATION, NOT WITH THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR Blue Ridge Job Corps Center is a federal facility owned by the Department of Labor/Employment & Training Administration. It is operated by Education Management Corporation under contract with the DOL. Blue Ridge Job Corps has been operating for over 40 years, providing career technical and academic training to disadvantaged youth 16 to 24 years old. It is a 24/7 facility with 192 students. Blue Ridge Job Corps Center and Education Management Corporation are seeking to obtain quotes for the removal and replacement of 230 windows with the same style wooden frame window in a registered historical building constructed about 1873, which is located at 245 West Main Street, Marion, VA 24354. The windows need to be double hung insulated with a minimum R value of 4. Areas outside and inside the windows must be finished by the contractor and may involve replacing trim and caulk. To be considered for a subcontract, the contractor must provide all proper licenses, insurances, and SAM registration. A pre-bid conference will be hosted on Center on October 20 th, 2015, at 1:00 PM EDT. All interested contractors are required to attend and to participate in a pre-bid walkthrough. The scope of work will be distributed at that time. No quote will be accepted from any contractor that did not attend the pre-bid conference. Interested parties are asked to call Libby Bare, Purchasing Agent, to register to attend the pre-bid conference. Contact information is listed below. Quotes are to be submitted by 5 PM EDT on October 30, 2015. Blue Ridge Job Corps Center and Education Management Corporation have the right to refuse any and all quotes.
