- Description
- The National Park Service (NPS) intends to issue a concessions prospectus on September 29, 2015, for a 10-year concession contract for food and beverage, retail, and parking at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that no preferred Offeror for this contract exists. The world-renowned image of four U.S. President's faces etched into granite serves as an inspiration to artists, engineers, military, and the public. Over the past ten years, more than twenty million people have taken the pilgrimage to experience the patriotic grandeur of Mount Rushmore National Memorial, located in the scenic setting of the Black Hills of South Dakota. The NPS depends on its concessioners to meet the needs of over a million guests annually. The prospectus is available on the NPS website at http://concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm. Hard copy prospectuses are available by contacting Tracy Simmons via email at tracy_simmons@nps.gov or mail to National Park Service, Midwest Region, 601 Riverfront Drive, Omaha, Nebraska 68102, Attn: Concessions Division. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $40 for prospectuses delivered Federal Express or Express Mail, or $30 if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash or credit accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service and must include a delivery address. If you choose to retrieve a copy of the prospectus from the website, please notify Ms. Simmons at tracy_simmons@nps.gov so you can be placed on the mailing list to receive any modifications and other correspondence regarding this prospectus. The same information will be posted on the above mentioned website where the prospectus is available. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO DOWNLOAD A COPY FROM THE WEBSITE IMMEDIATELY, AS THE WEBSITE WILL BE OFFLINE IF THERE IS A LAPSE IN GOVERNMENT FUNDING. The Service will lead a site visit on Thursday, October 15, 2015. Attendance is not required in order to submit a proposal, but the NPS encourages attendance as this will be the ONLY site visit conducted for this business opportunity. All parties intending to attend the scheduled site visit must send an email message to Tracy Simmons, Commercial Services Specialist at tracy_simmons@nps.gov, no later than 5:00 p.m. (Central Time) October 5, 2015 to reserve a spot. At that time, you will receive further instructions regarding the site visit. For security purposes, all parties attending the site visit must disclose to the Service the name of the interested organization engaging their services. The email must provide the following information: your name, the name of the organization you are representing, the primary contact for the organization, and the names of the other site visit attendees for your organization. Due to space constraints, site visit attendees will be limited to a total of four (4) people per company or organization. The Service will provide further information and additional directions by return email message to the organization's identified primary contact. Questions in response to this prospectus are due in writing by Thursday, October 22, 2015, by email to Tracy Simmons. All offers must be received by the NPS at the address listed on the inside front cover of the prospectus no later than 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time on Wednesday January 13, 2016, in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract. The prospectus describes the business opportunity and includes the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract.
