Contract Award Date: 10/30/15 Contractor: Blackbox Biometrics, Inc., Rockchester, NY Description: The Government intends to award a sole source contract to Blackbox Biometrics, Inc. to provide the Linx Sensor; a head impact exposure monitor. These sensors will be evaluated for field readiness and potential inclusion in several Garrison training environments. To support this effort, the US Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) has been conducting research in the area of head impact exposure monitoring since 2007. As a result of laboratory evaluations, the BlackBox Biometrics head impact exposure monitor was identified for additional testing in ongoing research. USAARL has identified multiple companies capable of providing a head impact exposure monitor. The goal of this research is to focus on one sensor at a time, currently Black Box Biometrics is the next sensor to conduct research on. The intent is test all head impact exposure monitors listed above and to evaluate for field readiness and potential inclusion in several Garrison Training Environments. BlackBox Biometrics, being the owner and exclusive worldwide licensor of Linx sensor system, is the only company capable of providing services on any of the BlackBox Biometrics products.
