Description
Washington Homeland Security Roundtable Launches The Border Patrol Industry Academy in collaboration with U.S. Border Patrol Washington Homeland Security Roundtable will host Inaugural Session at United States Border Patrol HQ, Ronald Regan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington DC, 20229, on October 14-15, 2015. The Washington Homeland Security Roundtable (WHSR) announce the creation of The Border Patrol Industry Academy. The Border Patrol Industry Academy is an unprecedented, in-depth program designed to strengthen Industry collaboration and knowledge of the Border Security mission. The program consists of quarterly sessions over a one year period which are: The opening session at Border Patrol Headquarters Washington DC, selected Southwest and Northern Border Sector tours, and concluding with training sessions and a graduation ceremony at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico. U.S. Border Patrol agents and Senior Leadership at the initial meeting will dialogue and participate in several discussions over the two day period focusing on major strategic initiatives including: Southern Border & Approaches Campaign, Enforcement Technology, Geospatial Intelligence, Special Operations & Mobility, Biometrics, Operational Requirements, Man power Requirements Determination, among others. Discussions will also cover major priorities within the Law Enforcement Operations, Strategic Planning and Analysis and Mission Readiness Operations Directorates. The goal is to start the Border Patrol Industry Academy with Senior Industry Executives who maintain a broad organizational authority and responsibility that can share comprehensive Industry knowledge and are able to disseminate Border Security information back across their organization. The one year program is organized such that USBP knowledge and understanding is built with each successive quarterly session. The preliminary schedule is below. Quarterly Session Date 1st Session: Headquarters (Washington, DC) October 14-15 2nd Session: Southern Border (San Diego / RGV) Week of January 18th * 3rd Session: Northern Border (Buffalo / Blaine) Week of May 2nd * 4th Session: Academy Training (Artesia) Week of August 1st * *Dates/Locations are subject to change Participation Details The Border Patrol Industry Academy is reserved for 50 Industry Senior Executives at the level of VP (or commensurate title) and above. Participants must be U.S. citizens and the organization which they represent must be registered through www.sam.gov. Senior Industry Executives will be expected to participate in each quarterly session. Details are available on the WHSR website at www.whsroundtable.org, and registration at www.whsroundtable.org/USBPAcademy. Registration is currently open offered on a first come, first serve basis to both WHSR Members and non-members. Fees for participants will be limited to actual program and travel costs. About WHSR WHSR, founded in 2004, is a 501c (6) non-profit group of individual Member Companies that are actively engaged in homeland security policies, practices, procedures, and procurements as a user or supplier of homeland security equipment or services.
